My extreme makeover from cute-and-cuddly to cut-and-killer is underway. I have left Philip Seymour Hoffman's body in the dust, and am in "Jack Black when he's been working out" territory! My weight has dropped from 164.4 lbs to 161.4 lbs. My favorite shorts now fall to my ankles without a belt. And my face is so noticeably thinner that my weekly tennis partner asked me if I was ill. To which I replied. "Only if by ill you mean totally on the road to bufftown, dude!" Then he thrashed me 6-1, 6-1.
Clay Burwell and Elizabeth Hendrix, owners of High Performance gym in NYC, have been watching and working me in equal measure. The most heinous workout of Week 2? Clay strapped a weighted vest on me and had me run up and down three flights of stairs in their building's 100-degree, smells like fried chicken stairwell. Not only that, he had me taking steps two at a time going up! I really felt like I was in the army for 6 grueling minutes. But I'm also learning more about my body, which is something you don't really get when you are working out alone. Elizabeth has been noticing that my right side is wound as tight as Jim Carrey on a late night talk show. My right hip has also been seizing up when I run. As we talked it through, I remembered that years ago, I tore my right thigh muscle playing soccer, but since I was 14, never did a single thing about it. It was like a lightbulb went off! So now she has me on a special stretching regimen that already is working wonders for my flexibility, as well as decreasing the frequency of grunts when I get in and out of chairs!See what professional help can do? I am so psyched by my progress, I am letting my mind wander to all of the slim-friendly clothes I'm going to be able to pull off in my sleek new Lexus SC of a bod. Check out my SLIDESHOW of skinny clothes, and come back next Wednesday for my Week 3 recap!6 Weeks to Sexy ArchiveWeek1: Turning My Philip Seymour Hoffman Body Into Sting€™s
