Cute Valentine's Day Gifts Under $20

Valentine's Day is definitely a romantic holiday, but it's also a stressful time for any gift giver. While couples who have been together for years and years may have their Valentine's Day routine down to a tee, new couples may have some more trouble. Of course, no one expects an expensive diamond necklace after the 4th date, but a small trinket declaring one's puppy love is always appreciated. That's why I've found plenty of cute and thoughtful gifts under $20! For the beauty guru, give the gift of lipgloss with the Mini Super Shimmer Gift Set. Even if you and your fellow single friends aren't celebrating the holiday in a typical fashion, it's nice to give a little something to show your affection, right? I think a magic frog to prince fits the bill perfectly. And if you're without a clue on what to give that special someone you may or may not be ready to call your significant other, take a peek at my slideshow!

Enter To Win One Of FIVE Copies Of The September Issue On DVD!

For many, an opportunity to go behind the scenes at Vogue would be a dream. For others, like Andy in the 2006 comedy/drama The Devil Wears Prada, "nightmare" is the word that comes to mind. And for everyone else, well, it's simply a mystery. Who could possibly fear a place with so many shoes? Directed by R.J. Cutler, The September Issue takes us through the making of the most important issue of fashion's premiere publication and brings us face to face with editor in chief Anna Wintour herself, sans sunglasses (if you can believe it.) Models, celebrities, photographers, and other masthead fixtures like creative director Grace Coddington add to the 90 exceptional minutes that Entertainment Weekly hails as "dishy, glitzy, vibrant and sensationally fun." Available as a two-disc "Double Issue" DVD containing extensive bonus materials, including over 90 minutes of never-before-seen deleted scenes, audio commentary with the director and a photo gallery, The September Issue will be hitting stores on February 23, 2010. In honor of the upcoming release, we're giving readers the chance to win one of FIVE copies, each valued at $29.98. Read on to find out how to enter, and see the trailer here!

Stand Out In Powerhouse Pink Like Kristin Cavallari

    image

Always one to command attention, Hills vixen Kristin Cavallari made a show-stopping splash at the L.A. premiere of When in Rome thanks to her powerhouse pink Naven frock. This color is definitely one of my favorites for obvious reasons- it is stunning and so flattering against all skin tones. Powerhouse pink can make even the greatest of wallflowers come out of their shells and is the kind of color that delivers instant confidence. There really is no wrong way to wear it! Team it with neutrals for a subdued effect or with black for a more edgy vibe. Either way, this dress was made to do all the talking, so take a cue from Kristin and keep the accessories to a minimum. Check out my slideshow to get the exact dress seen on Kristin and for similar options!

Bag Of The Week: The Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Bow Wow Wow' Clutch

If you're the kind of girlfriend who likes to leave your Valentine little "hints" for gift-giving, like magazine clippings or strategically dog-eared catalogs (hey, some guys need a little guidance when it comes to shopping), then here's a little something that you just might have to put on their gifting radar. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Wow Clutch appeals to a bag collector's inner girlie-girl -- the bow design is cutesie without verging on obnoxious, and the removable strap makes it versatile as a casual shoulder bag or a night-out clutch (see? It's totally a smart purchase). But what you'll really swoon over is the heart print lining -- there's nothing more tempting than an adorable bag with an even cuter interior! Now just conveniently leave this page open on your man's laptop and you may just have this bag tucked under your arm by next week (wishful thinking?)!

What: the Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Wow Wow Linda Leather Clutch
    Price: $298
    Where to Buy: Bloomingdale's
Who: xgalexy was the first to add the Bow Wow Wow Clutch to the Hive.

Get Marisa Miller's White Hot Look

    image
Sabrina Newman on Feb 7, 2010 5:20 AM PST
At this year's Grammy awards, smoking hot supermodel Marisa Miller demonstrated how sexy a little white dress can be. Marisa was a true vision in vintage Gucci. She upped the glam factor with gorgeous Neil Lane jewelry including a standout statement necklace and two cocktail rings. She added a pop of color to the look with red Yves Saint Laurent platform pumps and sported beautifully tousled waves, staying true to her signature California-chic aesthetic. White is no longer a spring and summer specific shade and can serve as a fresh alternative to basic black all year round. Check out my slideshow to get the look!

Which Actress Rocked Your Favorite Look At The "Dear John" ...

Amanda Seyfriend has come along way ever since her stint as the weather-predicting dumb blonde from Mean Girls, and now she's starring alongside the leading man of just about any hot-blooded woman's dreams, Channing Tatum, in the just-in-time-for-V-Day flick Dear John. But just because she's made it big as the heroine in the latest Nicolas Sparks' onscreen romance doesn't necessarily mean she reigns supreme on the red carpet! Amanda looked sweet yet very sultry in a flouncy navy dress with a boldly plunging neckline, and Channing's real life leading lady Jenna Dewan was all glamour in a floor-length bustier gown. Fellow premiere attendees lent their support in style, including Iron Man 2's Olivia Munn in an asymmetrical one-shoulder dress and grey pumps and "The Vampire Diaries'" Kayla Ewell was super-chic in a striped long-sleeved mini. Vote below on who had the best premiere look! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Let Out Your Inner Seductress With Sultry Valentine's Day ...

Alex Gambardella on Feb 5, 2010 2:18 PM PST
As much as sexy lingerie succeeds in shooting your confidence through the stratosphere, it's not exactly comfy for everyday wear. I know they say pain is beauty, but itchy lace and corset boning digging into your love handles isn't exactly what you want to be enduring for the sake of looking sexy on just any day of the week... unless of course it's a special occasion! So this V-Day, swap your standard boyshorts for luxe lingerie and let that closet vixen come out, at least for the night! With slinky sheer babydolls and gorgeously flattering bra-and-panty sets, you (and your Valentine) will love your seductive new skivvies so much, you may never revisit another 5-for-$25 Pink panties deal ever again! Okay, that's taking it a little far, but if you're feeling tempted to bring out that V-Day temptress, check the slideshow for the picks!
